Getting started

I used to have a blog. In fact, to get this one going, I revisited my old blog and realised I was a pretty dedicated writer from the ages of 13-16. The last post was a picture of my friend and I (we're still friends!) having a free Ben and Jerry's cone. I remember that day - I think we queued for about an hour in our school uniform.

I kind of wanna burn that blog. It's like watching your teen years play out, sloooowly and painfully, and you can watch the car crash again and again. Yet here I am starting another.

I played with the idea of starting a blog during this period because I:

1. am bored

2. am unemployed

3. am baking more often than required

4. am playing too much Wordscapes (it's amazing how addictive this game is. There's a tournament every weekend and A and I are on the winning team a.k.a 1000 coins every week!!)

5. read the Honey & Co baking book from cover to cover and felt so inspired (and hungry)

Re 3. since I think a lot of the world is doing the same seeing as flour and pandan leaves (as I've been told) are sold out in many places, I wanted to share my kitchen disasters*, recipes/videos I found useful etc. in this space. Seeing as I have no one to give my food to, this shall settle for second best. And perhaps people will be equally bored enough to read my ramblings.

The last line of the last post read "Till next time" and I guess that's now, 11 years later. Let's hope I don't want to burn this blog in 2031.

I wrote this post last week but didn't want to publish it yet because I was trying to gain access to my old blog to make sure it remains hidden in the bowels of the internet. However, it was from so long ago I resigned to the fate that my past was going to be dug up and ridiculed UNTIL YESTERDAY when I managed to gain access (while discovering a whole other parade of blogs I had access to, like class blogs and CCA blogs and links to other friend's old blogs**). I managed to make it private and can now publish this blog in peace.

*please read footnote of next post re most epic kitchen disaster - yet another driver to publish this blog. Some of my friends said "it's a sign!"

**saving these reads for a rainy day - please get in touch if you want to re-read these together
